Stock gap analysis: when you'll run short, and by how much

A shortage is easier to fix in week one than in week ten. The stock gap analysis shows each product's gap early, including when an order already on its way won't arrive in time.

What the stock gap panel shows

• Stock lasts: how many days the stock is forecast to last, before lead time.
• Stock-out date: the week the product is forecast to run out.
• Incoming order: what's already on the way, and the week it lands.
• Stock-out gap: how many weeks you'd be out, even with that order coming.
• Place PO by: the latest week to place the next order so it arrives in time, given the supplier's lead time.

Worst first

The inventory list puts the products with a shortage coming at the top, then those to order now, then those to order soon, so the day starts with what matters.

From the gap to an order

From the panel, open the weekly stock forecast for that product, or plan a purchase order. Suggested quantities are for you to review; nothing is ordered for you.
